Some great news out of Annapolis! Home delivery will continue.

We’d like to thank the Maryland General Assembly for passing HB1232 today. A BIG THANKS to sponsors Senator Katie Fry Hester, and Delegate Ben Brooks.

This legislation offers Maryland’s alcohol producers some certainty in the wake of a year that posed significant threats to the security of their businesses. After lengthy discussions with other segments of the alcohol industry, a compromise was reached and our bill is bound for Governor Larry Hogan’s desk.

“The business-saving COVID-19 emergency guidance provided in 2020 by Governor Larry Hogan and Comptroller of Maryland Peter Franchot has been codified today,” said Kevin Atticks, Executive Director of the Brewers Association of Maryland, the Maryland Distillers Guild, and Maryland Wine.

This legislation allows for in-state direct-to-consumer shipping of beer and spirits, provides options for the delivery of beer, wine, and spirits to consumers by the staff of the local producer, and lifts off-premise sale restrictions for breweries and distilleries throughout Maryland.
